The Fourth Meeting of the IORA Maritime Safety and Security (MSS) Working Group was held virtually on 24 May 2024, under the co-chairmanship of Australia and India. This meeting served as a strategic check-point for the Working Group's ongoing program.

The primary purpose was to review progress under the current Work Plan (2022-2027) and make necessary adjustments to maintain its relevance and effectiveness. Member States discussed implementation updates, shared challenges, and recalibrated priorities to respond to the dynamic maritime security environment of the Indian Ocean.

The meeting resulted in a Decision Report containing a revised workplan. This outcome ensured the Working Group's activities remained agile, focused, and aligned with member states' capacities and the region's evolving needs. The collaborative leadership of Australia and India highlighted the shared commitment of Dialogue Partners to supporting IORA's central role in fostering regional maritime security coordination and implementation.
