IORA Observer Organization

The Indian Ocean Research Group (IORG) became an observer of IORA in August 2010. IORG encourages research, promotes dialogue, fosters interstate cooperation, ensures a holistic discourse on the human and environmental security. 

IORG is a member of the IORA Academic Group.

The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) is dedicated to promoting the educational, scientific, and technological development of all aspects of marine sciences throughout the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region, with a view toward sustaining the use and conservation of its marine resources.

WIOMSA works in the areas of research related to the management and governance issues affecting marine and coastal ecosystems in the region.
