The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), in partnership with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), convened a virtual webinar on 30 April 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable ocean energy development across the region.

Jointly organised by IORA and IRENA, the session brought together policymakers, government officials, technical experts, and key stakeholders engaged in ocean energy and the broader blue economy. The webinar served as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building among IORA Member States.

As part of the series titled “Toward Ocean Energy Readiness in Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Member States,” the webinar aimed to strengthen understanding of ocean energy technologies and their potential applications. It also facilitated the sharing of best practices and lessons learned, while supporting countries in building the necessary frameworks and readiness for the development and deployment of ocean energy solutions.
