IORA Secretariat in Transnational Security Course to Strengthen Strategic Regional Understanding
14 July - 19 July 2024   |   Events

The Transnational Security Course (TSC) was conducted from 14 to 19 July 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, by the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS). This comprehensive course provided a strategic overview of emergent security challenges.

IORA's participation allowed its representative, Mr Shivraj Dhuppe, Director, to engage with a wide array of transnational security issues relevant to the Indian Ocean. The curriculum examined Indo-Pacific strategies, geopolitical competition, cybersecurity, climate change, maritime domain awareness, economic disruptions, and the impacts of emerging technologies and disinformation.

The outcome was an enriched understanding of the interconnected security landscape. This participation was highly relevant to IORA's MSS priority, as it provided a broader strategic context for regional maritime challenges.
