The responsibilities of the IABE Directorate are as follows:
1. Monitoring and implementing CSO and COM decisions to ensure the timely implementation of the outcomes of Council meetings (CSO and COM).
2. Broadening External Engagement of IORA
- Strengthening cooperation with Dialogue Partners through sharing technical expertise and resources for mutual benefit.
- Building partnerships with countries outside the region, as well as with regional and international organizations that share common interests, to raise IORA’s visibility and profile in global forums.
- Deepening engagement with non-government stakeholders—such as civil society, business chambers, the media, and youth networks—to promote people-to-people connections, mutual understanding, trust, and community-building across the region.
3. Strengthening Institutions of IORA
- Ensuring the Secretariat has adequate resources to effectively carry out its work.
- Supporting and reinforcing the roles of IORA’s specialized agencies to make the organization more effective and coordinated.
4. Consulting and seeking guidance from the IORA Chair and the Troika on important matters.
Public Diplomacy and Communication fall under the IABE's mandate, with the primary objective of enhancing IORA’s visibility and outreach. Key responsibilities include publishing the quarterly newsletter, coordinating press and media engagement, and managing IORA’s website and social media platforms.
