Previous Chair

The Previous Chair, as referred in IORA Charter, is embodied in the Member State which has completed its mandate as Chair.  The role of the previous chair (also referred as past Chair) remains crucial to the organisation, as from its experience as Chair of the organisation, it can advise the current Chair, and assist in finding the best way forward in different matters.

In conclusion, having the active involvement of the previous Chair, ensures continuity in the work undertaken by the organisation, which is key to have a long-term impact in the Indian Ocean region.
